The exhibition (18 May to 31 July 2023) is held in celebration of the Golden Anniversary of Sport Singapore (1973 to 2023) and in conjunction with Singapore HeritageFest 2023. It highlights the performances of leading Sportsmen and Sportswomen in international competitions to demonstrate the strengthening of the culture of sport in post-war Singapore. Covering the competitive exploits of Singapore Olympians and pioneering athletes in international sport (late 1940s to 1950s), it emphasizes the role of competitive sport as a means of challenging aspiring athletes and creating a collective international identity in sport.

The exhibition is a prelude to the Book Launch & Talk on “Sport in Singapore: The Rocky Road to Kallang Park” authored by Dr Nick Aplin and published by Sport Singapore. The official book launch will be held at the National Museum of Singapore on Saturday 27 May 2023 at 10am in conjunction with Singapore HeritageFest 2023.
