With the wide range of 3D laser technology available today, have you ever wondered what is helpful in heritage conservation? Try 3D laser scanning in the historic Architectural Conservation Laboratory (ArClab) townhouse.

At the ArClab, 3D laser technology is used to advance the documentation and conservation of the historic fabric. Through this workshop, learn about the synergy between technology and heritage conservation with different types of 3D laser scanning technologies, their appropriate uses, and the advantages and disadvantages of various 3D laser scanning equipment. Participants will gain practical hands-on experience with 3D laser scanners commonly used in heritage documentation and conservation.

The Architectural Conservation Laboratory (ArClab) is part of National University of Singapore’s Department of Architecture. With a focus on developing innovative techniques to advance the documentation and conservation of the historic fabric, creative design, and policy research for broader conservation issues, the ArClab enables cutting-edge cross-disciplinary research and collaboration across digital conservation technology, material sciences, and building aesthetics.
