While Carnatic music is what most people associate with Indian classical music, there exists another fascinating genre: Sopanam music, which forms the musical foundation of Kathakali performances. Expert Kalamandalam Vinod from India will share intricate details about both traditions and demonstrate their similarities and differences through engaging explanations and live performances.
Bhaskar's Arts Academy
Bhaskar’s Arts Academy is a Singapore-based Indian classical dance, music and theatre company that has grown with the nation since 1952. Initially helmed by the pioneer dance  couple the Bhaskars, the Academy is now led by their  daughter and Young Artist Award recipient (1996) Ms Meenakshy Bhaskar. Along with its teaching wing Nrityalaya  Aesthetics Society, BAA is steadfast in its mission to touch lives by championing Indian performing arts on stage and beyond.
